Andy Wirth – I have ambitious plans for Olympic Valley Incoporation

Recently, there has been a scuffle between two camps, one that is for the oceanic Olympic Valley, while the other, which are the residents and local entrepreneurs. Remember all this comes in the wake of a just ended drought that hit the communities populating the North lakefront of Lake Tahoe.

Reno Gazette-Journal reported that most of the businesses that heavily depend on of the winter resorts were almost downing their tools due to the scorching effects of the said drought. Olympic Valley has for long been recognized as a home to America’s winters sporting terrain alongside other resorts such as the squaw valley resort, which is headed by Andy Wirth. However, there has been a sigh of relief from Mother Nature as well as from the political side, which resorted to withdrawing their petition. What’s more, the rains expected after the long drought finally poured earlier than anticipated, which led to many resorts in the area to open businesses soon enough.

On their part, the political side argued that the move to by Andy Wirth and his supporters to not incorporate the valley was selfish and that he did not want to be answerable to the town council on issues touching on land development.

However this is not the case, as Andy argues cites that a tax increment on the residents and businesses in the area would not be inevitable, could the incorporation effected.

Besides, he continues to rubbish their claims tabling Squaw Valley Holdings strategy to improve the current real estate and add more homes and commercial units. He further added that he was planning to connect the Squaw Valley with the Ski areas of the Alpine Meadow, by building a gondola.

Other reasons that justify why the area should not be incorporated were that the proposed town of Olympic Valley was not economically possible. Tahoe Daily Tribune reports that the move would be a dangerous notion, the valley also has enough water for Squaw expansion among a myriad of reasons.

However, in the whole argument, it is evident that the President and CEO of Squaw Valley Ski Holdings Mr. Andy Wirth has a significant influence.
